Peanut as a Greyhound

A Greyhound

Peanut a Greyhound/Lab Mix

I recently was reading a book on greyhounds in the book store and I was amazed at how many of the traits of greyhounds Peanut shares.

1. "This is a gorgeous dog and he gives the impression that he knows it" - Yup Peanut knows she is pretty
2. They sleep alot
3. Greyhounds tend to go white in the face early on. - Peanut started graying when she was 4
4. Small ears that are exquisitely soft to the touch.
5. The two middle toes are longer than the two outside to help with running.
6. They live indoors with the family and are very sensitive to heat or cold.
7. Greyhounds can easily back out of their collar. - Anyone who remembers Peanut as a puppy knows she is a master of escape.
8. Greyhounds commonly have sparsely coated or almost hairless tummies.
9. Many Greyhounds consider it their birthright to get on the furniture.
10. Long and lean, Greyhounds have probably invented counter-surfing.

All of the comments in the book have convinced me that Peanut has to be mixed with a Greyhound!

Cute Dog Sweaters

I love getting cute sweaters for Peanut because she doesn't have much fur and gets cold easily. I also like so show her support for my college football team, UGA. These are my picks for some cute sweaters.

Meet My Doggies

I have two very cute, sweet and loveable dogs. I don't know what I would do without them, and I spoil them way too much!

Peanut

Peanut is a 4 year old black Lab mix. I found her at the pound 4 years ago as a puppy. She was part of a litter of 9 puppies and their mom who had been found abandoned. I instantly fell in love. She look like a little peanut as a puppy, hence the name.

However, she grew into a large, tall dog who appears to be mixed more with a Greyhound or Great Dane. She enjoys playing fetch, toys with squeakers and napping as much as possible!

Buddy

Buddy is my boyfriend's dog and Peanut's best friend. He is a 4 year old Jack Russel mix who was also adopted from the pound. He was found wandering the road and had been abused. We took him in and rehabbed him and now he is a sweet, well adjusted dog. He still is a bit skittish, but he warms up to you quickly and loves a great belly rub!
